Title: Ryland
Tools: Mouse
Process: Digital painting, vaguely referenced
Time: 7 hours
Completed: 29/5/10

Comments:
Ryland. Derived from Reilnd from ancient Vastin. Its original meaning is lost, but it's now seen as a combination of rye and land, suggesting a farming origin. This is likely, considering the name originates from Hodasia and Eserren. Rylands are considered humble supporters of the community, but are also known to be rather difficult to interpret and irrationaly headstrong. The greatest example of these traits is the Hireos Paladin, Gideon Ryland (80AL-1171AL) who is thought to have faked his own death in order to avoid an enormous and inhuman responsibility of protecting the people from great opposition. This role was placed upon him by The Guard, who are known to both patronise and judge the Hireos unjustly. Gideon has one known son: Cole Ryland (pictured).
