Mother Sage of True Blood, Leuvana

The Hireos Leuvana is one of Nikina's three children and is the most powerful of the neutral Hireos, said to be stronger even than Komulokon. She is estimated to have been born somewhere around 9600BD, though some dispute this because it could be interpreted that she and Enkhaedis were born in the same year, and it is known that Enkhaedis was born in the year 8575BD. However, The Dutri does not imply how much time passed between her existing and her creating Enkhaedis. She is the creator of the Trueblood race, and thus, she looks like one of them; long, rough crimson hair, fur all over, deep blue eyes, and the fangs, claws, and other lion- or wolf-like qualities. Nikina has stated that she excels at light magic, but she is not the known light magic representative. That is Rak, the Odanon. Leuvana is, however, interpreted as the appropriate light magic elemental spirit for anybody aiming to fight Garukavar.

Leuvana has been described as having a fierce personality and intimidating willpower. Such was the strength that Nikina placed in her that she did not like to be told what to do by the child god, so she turned away from him. She still does, however, strongly oppose anything of Garukavar. She simply wants to be the top figure in her team. The Dutri describes her as an angel beast with a brilliant aura. It also says that she created Enkhaedis shortly after birth and together they made the first Truebloods.

Father Sage of True Blood, Ekhaedis

The Hireos Enkhaedis is similar to Leuvana in many ways but is also quite different. He takes a more personal kingly role with his people, whereas Leuvana takes a much higher seat as an overseeing deity while Sarkha, Enkhaedis's Trueblood wife, takes the queenly role. Though The Dutri says he was born shortly after her (in the year 8575BD to be precise), it does not indicate who is more powerful. It does say that Enkhaedis and Leuvana were taught the same laws of light and energy, and that they both had warm voices and powerful limbs as well as undying nerve, but it doesn't say anything else on the matter. Many take the position that Enkhaedis has more physical strength where Leuvana has more magical strength, which is a common male-physical/female-magical perception of Hireos and Odanon.

Palace of Two Queens

There is a scripture in Hunnuklad that Nikina translated which tells a story of something that happened early in the existence of the Truebloods. It says that, at first, Enkhaedis and Leuvana were actually lovers, and that their love brought about the first Truebloods. Enkhaedis worshipped her as a goddess, giving her offerings and sacrifices and much attention. He was deeply in love with her. As their race grew larger, their knowledge of magic and technology quickly increased -- quicker than that of the humans. After some time, Enkhaedis met a Trueblood woman named Sarkha. Sarkha was not a Hireos like Leuvana; she was an average young Trueblood. He saw Leuvana in her, but to a different degree. He saw Sarkha as gentler and more loving, yet still powerful and passionate, and this enticed Enkaedis to turn away from Leuvana. He and Sarkha had two children together before Leuvana found out. Needless to say, the Mother Sage was angry.

Such was Leuvana's rage that she went to kill the two children at once. Now, before Enkhaedis met Sarkha, Leuvana had given him a weapon which has been described as a razor staff, said to hold great magical potential. This weapon is called Ueatari. When Leuvana went to strike down the newborns, Enkhaedis intervened with her spells using Ueatari and distorted their effects. Instead of stealing their lives, it quite had the reverse effect: one found that he had Leuvana's fearlessness and passion for physical testing and the other found that he had Leuvana's knowledge on magical properties and fundamentals. Nekhriram, the fearless child, had absorbed so much of Leuvana's anger that she no longer felt compelled to harm them. As a consequence, he has been considered emotionally unstable ever since. Daesdikhin, the magical child, had absorbed so much of Leuvana's knowledge that she could not figure out how to reverse the bizarre spells. She left and hid herself away, ashamed of her new inferior being.

Enkhaedis married Sarkha while Leuvana was in hiding. The Hireos and Trueblood combined their blood and their souls became united. Though Enkhaedis was with a woman he loved more than Leuvana, he felt remorse for what had happened. Her power was now somewhat divided between herself and his two sons. So he went to his sons and asked that each of them made gifts or offerings of some kind for the Mother Sage as symbols that, as long as they remained alive, their power was not out of her reach if she really needed it. Enkhaedis told Leuvana that his sons had prepared gifts for her, and she came out of hiding to see them.

The Gifts

As Nekhriram was not good at making things with his hands, he ventured out into the kingdoms of humans and killed 36 skilled hunters who were known to foolishly try to hunt Truebloods. He presented the Mother Sage with their 36 skulls and this satisfied her. He also pledged to fight for her regardless of the word of Enkhaedis, and this satisfied her more.

Daesdikhin, on the other hand, was not a violent one and liked to spend a long time creating things, so with his skills in metalwork he created four items in total for Leuvana. The first was a series of gold chains, designed to repel powerful offensive elemental attacks. This gift did not please Leuvana, and she rejected it. Daesdikhin instead offered it to Nikina. The child god accepted after Daesdikhin removed a certain number of lengths and links so that it would fit. The second item was bright white gem encased in a gold brooch, designed to attract magical currents with an effectiveness that is unheard of to this day. This seemed to please her and she accepted it and wore it, but secretly she threw it away because she was offended by what it implied about her ability. It is said that she gave it to the humans of Alacas, hoping they would simply destroy themselves with it. The third was a spear similar to Enkhaedis's Ueatari, only it was designed to focus large amounts of light magic. Essentially, this design made the wielder feel more uplifted and enabled them to transfer much larger amounts of light energy than one would by simply using one's body. He called it Mierral. Again, she accepted the gift, but again, she was insulted and secretly threw it away, only this time she snapped it in half. She threw the headpiece of the spear somewhere out in the ocean and she buried the shaft deep in an icy cavern after encasing it in ice. The final item he made for her is the only one she kept. It is a sort of tiara headpiece made of gold and encrusted with many precious stones. Unlike the other three gifts, it had no magical properties; it was purely for decoration. Leuvana liked this. She took it and gladly wore it, and considered the two sons to be in good terms.

After this, it is said that Leuvana never rediscovered her rage or spite towards Enkhaedis and his new family, but she can still be unreasonably harsh with any others. She spent less time on Riiga's soil and more time where no mortals could see her.
