Variations of Hireos, Odanon, and Gods in other Religions
Adrastatirok
Generally known as Forganad outside the Alation religion, also called Enfelen by the Ildemin.
According to Alation tradition, Adrastatirok is the only true god, followed
by the sun and the moon, Ashmah and Gulemn respectively.
He is associated with control, authority, power, and righteousness. Alations believe that there is a single god who has three different divine orientations. Rapturian first called this god Adrastatirok around 2280BD. The borrowing of the theories of Rapturian dates back to the first rebel factions that rose against the Empire. Rapturian was alive during this time, and his controversial theories soon reached South Ideitess. As the Empire enforced his own egocentric religion at the time,
the Alations adopted the "religious" ideas of Rapturian and began to worship a god known as Adrastatirok.
Alation belief states that Adrastatirok created the sun and the moon, who he named Ashmah and Gulemn, and together the sun and the moon formed Riiga between them. Ashmah and Gulemn gave birth to Ashmin and Gulana. Gulana, much like the moon, saw the Alations in their weaker moments, and sent Rakiunaw down to lead them and teach them about the world.
Apipaj
Normally referred to as Yasrantia, especially by humans.
In Hamakro, apipaj means 'death'.
As such, she is a spirit of sickness, suffering, plague, and death.
She is one of the higher spirits in Hamakro mythology, and is both feared and revered. She is also the spirit of loneliness, seclusion, and disability, and Hamakro connect these closely with death and suffering, implying that Hamakro are very socially oriented. The daughters of Apipaj are believed to be Jero, the spirit of food and passion, and Kirutekaj, the spirit of intelligence and beauty, and her son is Urolua, the spirit of secrecy and hunting.
Ashmah
Known as She to most humans, Xilia to The Empire, and Jero to the Hamakro.
To Alations, Ashmah is a being of the sun, and is related to the sun, light, warmth, and life energy. Alation belief states that Adrastatirok created the sun and the moon, who he named Ashmah and Gulemn, and together the sun and the moon formed Riiga between them. Ashmah contributed life, energy, and light to the world, whereas Gulemn contributed stone, earth, and other materials. Ashmah gave birth to Ashmin, who
is a lesser being of light, known to be significantly more merciful than the often volatile and temperamental Ashmah.
Ashmin
Known generally as Rak. The Ildemin call her Rek.
In Alation religion, she is often regarded as a more youthful and merciful
version of Ashmah, willingly helping her followers where Ashmah would remain indifferent.
Where Ashmah is associated with more epic phenomena such as the sun and its light, Ashmin is more related to fire and is therefore prayed to for (cooked) food and warmth, two essential things needed to live.
Biribel
Known as
Buroba to the Keid.
To the Ildemin, Biribel is known as the rebellious beast. Due to the oppressive history of Ildemin, Biribel's actions of rebelling against the dark beasts is glorified and is often shared as an inspirational story of rising against opposition. He is also known as the father of willpower, bargaining, and victory, and is believed to bring good fortune with favourable winds.
Enfelen
Generally known as Forganad, also called Adrastatirok by the Alations.
To the Ildemin, Enfelen is the overseer beast. He is known to maintain divine balance in the world by means of 'tilting the scales'. This can take the form of birth or death, and so Enfelen is treated with great respect for fear of disrespecting his great power. The Ildemin, along with Alations, are the only people to openly speak about the superiority of the one high god without acknowledging the contributions or even existence of any variations of Nikina or Garukavar. Also unlike many other religions, the Ildemin believe that Enfelen plays a part in the life of everybody in any way.
Enkiden
Called Enkhaedis by the Truebloods.
To the Ildemin, Enkiden is the hunting beast. He is associated with physical power and great fighting prowess, as well as with good health, food, and wellbeing. He is celebrated with feasts and good hunting, and is worshipped more by the primitive Ildemin as opposed to those living in town and cities.
Erest
Known as Arastoi to the Carson Institute.
To the Ildemin, Erest is the nomad beast. He is associated with change, movement, and soulfulness. Much like Enkiden, he is mostly ignored by Ildemin living in towns and cities, but is a chief beast deity to nomadic Ildemin. He is also connected with good fortune, chance, and spontaneity.
Gulana
Generally known as Kyn.
Gulana is a being of silence and skill in Alation religion. He is often paired with the ideas of precision, efficacy, and humility, especially in the realm of fighting and killing, and is considered a guide for those in foreign and dangerous situations. He is seen as responsive to short prayers and expressions of gratitude, and is sometimes thought to be responsible for small "life-saving" interruptions or events. He is also a strong source of inspiration for many assassins.
Gulemn
Generally known as He to most humans and Maaloxtodin to the Keid.
To the Alations, Gulemn is a being of the moon, and is related to the moon itself, coolness, silence, rest, and stealth. Alation belief states that Adrastatirok created the sun and the moon, who he named Ashmah and Gulemn, and together the sun and the moon formed Riiga between them. Ashmah contributed life, energy, and light to the world, whereas Gulemn contributed stone, earth, and other materials. Gulemn gave birth to Gulana, who is associated with quietness and skill, especially in the realm of fighting and conflict.
Guranda
Known as L'orn to humans outside South Ideitess, and Urololua to the Hamakro.
To The Empire, Guranda is a symbol of the immortality of the emperor's rule. Emperor Guranda, the first emperor of South Ideitess, was once an ordinary man. He was always known to be a man of utter power; he had such authority and weight in his voice and presence that almost anybody would follow his will. Due to his claim that he had the power to open the Gate of Erivalfa and let through monsters to attack any who opposed him, he was the most feared man in the country. He set out The Holy Balentias as the laws of his empire, and then claimed to have ascended to the level of a god. When Guranda died, he had lived already for several hundred years, and a man appeared knowing things that only Guranda knew, also displaying the emperor's traits. The only thing that differed was his appearance and name. This event of a new emperor conveniently appearing at the death of the old emperor has happened time and time again, as Guranda is able to be resurrected into another human body when his old body dies.
The two gods, Mavharra and Ulkor, tricked the first mortals into believing false things about the world so that they would not be discovered, and they waited until the appearance of Guranda to make themselves known. They made for him an empress wife who would elavate him to the state of a god and bring him back to life each time his body died. They named the wife Xilia, and gave her great power so that she could punish mortals who ever got close to discovering the identity of Mavharra and Ulkor.
Jamolua
Known normally as Shyokro.
In Hamakro, jamolua means 'fire'. Like Tatori and Pura, Jamolua is known as a female beast spirit - one of three - and is associated with fire, cleansing, mountains, and the earth. She, along with the other beast spirits, is believed to command all the world with their power. The beast spirits are rarely talked of in Hamakro culture, as it is believed that they can hear all things at all times, and any remarks may be interpreted by the beast spirits as an insult, potentially resulting in some kind of horrific natural disaster. Jamolua is closely connected with volcanic activity, and sometimes with earthquakes. A fever, tripping over a rock, and vomitting are said to be forms of Jamolua's displeasure with whoever witnesses or experiences them.
Jero
Known as She to most humans, Ashmah to Alations, and Xilia to The Empire.
In Hamakro, jero means 'sister'. She is a spirit of food, joy, celebration, and passion. She is one of the more popular of the spirits, and her mentioning often precedes some kinds of festivities. She is also associated with fertility. Jero is known as the daughter of Apipaj, the spirit of death.

In Hamakro, kirutekaj means 'mother'. She is the spirit of commerce, trading, intelligence, and also is associated with beauty and intricacy. She is the sister of Jero and Urolua and the daughter of Apipaj. The son of Kirutekaj is Kimakikij, the father of the Hamakro. Kirutekaj is regarded to be a mother in a stern and disciplinary manner, where she will punish the foolish from afar. As such, she is both feared and a strong role model for Hamakro women.

Maaloxtodin
Generally known as He to most humans and Gulemn to the Alations.
To the Keid, Maaloxtodin is a kind of grandfather god. Maalox means 'father' and todin means 'old' in Keid. He is the only deity that the Keid worship or believe in, aside from Buroba himself. He is believed to be the creator of Buroba, and is also once thought to have complete power over the world, but he lost this power when he saved the early Keid people from a malicious spirit called Faatox. So Maaloxtodin had to stay far away from the world so that he wouldn't spend any power, and he watches over the Keid from a distance. He is associated with water and coolness, and comprises one of two essential components to Keid life - the other being air to breathe.

Known more commonly as Mirukavikneon, the third "head" or state of Garukavar.
According to the beliefs of The Empire, Mavharra is one of two ruling god in Riiga. The other is Ulkor. Mavharra is a god associated with lies and deceit. In the first years of mortals, it was Mavharra who covered their eyes with stories of false gods and explanations of the world, protecting his and Ulkor's identity. The two gods waited until the appearance of Guranda to make themselves known. They made for him an empress wife who would elavate him to the state of a god and bring him back to life each time his body died. They named the wife Xilia, and gave her great power so that she could punish mortals who ever got close to discovering the identity of Mavharra and Ulkor.
Mefeni
Known as Myfanvy to humans, and called Shonadol by Alations.
To the Ildemin, Mefeni is the kind beast. She is associated with helpfulness, humility, serving, kindness, and mercy. Ildemin believe that when they die, they meet with Mefeni, and she has mercy on those who ask for it, and their beast spirit within may pass on to "eternal grazing", which is seen as a kind of endless state of pleasant restfulness.
Meseter
Commonly known as Kagrouj by the Hamakro and most humans.
To the Ildemin, Meseter is the storm beast. He is associated with independence, anger, light, and vigour. Little more is known about him, as it is believed he is easily angered and therefore does not like Ildemin to speak of him to others.
Pura
Known commonly as Gorenkru.
In Hamakro, pura means 'lightning'. Like Tatori and Jamolua, Pura is known as a female beast spirit - one of three - and is associated with clouds, wind, the sky, and the weather. Pura is said to be the cause of wind, lightning, or rain storms. Disoritentation or dizziness, a timely covering of the sun by clouds, or a sudden gust of wind are said to be forms of Pura's displeasure with whoever witnesses or experiences them.
Rek

To the Ildemin, Rek is the dreaming beast. She is associated with family, hope, and dreams, and is often seen as loved by all and hated by none. She is similar to Kemenkin in that she is peaceful.
Rekeni
Known as Rakiunaw to the Alations.
To the Ildemin, Rekeni is the mystic beast. He is associated with grandeur, logic, science, and confidence. Rekeni is seen as a very righteous divine beast, who battles always for the greater good. As Rekeni opposes The Empire in all religions who acknowledge him, he is one of the most popular divine beasts to the Ildemin in South Ideitess.
Shonadol
Known as Myfanvy to humans, and called Mefini by Ildemin.
To the Alations, Shonadol is a being of passing. Shonadol is often associated with many things, from bargaining, intelligence, and wit, to changing beauty - as in the passing seasons - nature, time, and the idea of all things existing within an endless cycle of life. It's believed that she was once a beautiful young woman who had a home surrounded by lush gardens. Her life was one of vanity, wastefulness, and uselessness. She was warned one day by Ashmah to stop wasting her life, or else she would be made to life the same way forever. Shonadol was frightened, but she was not immediately deterred. She instead struck a bargain with Ashmah, promising to only help and think of others in exchange for endless life. Ashmah agreed and Shonadol kept her home, her beautiful gardens, and her appearance, but she is incapable of having any kind of attachment to another living being for a prolonged period of time, ensuring that she was always ready and available to help somebody else.
Talos
Known as Ernamin by most humans outside South Ideitess.
The Guards believe that the Hero-born line right up to Talos are worthy of worship. Though The Guards are not a religious faction persay, they acknowledge four Hero-borns as their founding forefathers. The eldest of these forefathers is Talos. He is associated with justice, humility, greatness, and honour. The Guards call Talos 'The Truth'; most humans accept Lord Renin as the first and greatest human, but The Guards believe that Talos is the greatest, and that Lord Renin only appeared so good because Talos was too humble to outshine his own father. During The Darkness, when father and son both died at the hands of Murluron, The Guards believe that it was Talos who made a final plea to the earth to allow Renin to be taken from the mortal world in return for being left behind and crushed by the Black Whale. The Guards believe that Talos was made a god for his selfless actions, and that he influences the General and helps him to make the best decisions for the people.
Tatori
Commonly known as Raildon.
In Hamakro, tatori means 'coldness'. Like Jamolua and Pura, Tatori is known as a female beast spirit - one of three - and is associated with ice, water, the cold, and darkness. Tatori is closely connected with the sea and the sky, dark nights, coldness, and caves. A strangely dark night, a sudden chill, sweating, or violent tides are all said to be forms of Tatori's displeasure with whoever witnesses or experiences them.
Ulkor
Known more commonly as Rukravumakoron, the second "head" or state of Garukavar.
According to the beliefs of The Empire, Ulkor is one of two ruling gods in Riiga. The other is Mavharra. Ulkor is a god associated with violence and war. In the first years of mortals, it was Ulkor who slew those who were brave and wise enough to challenge Mavharra's lies that protected his and Ulkor's identity.
Urolua
Known as L'orn to humans outside South Ideitess, and Guranda to those within The Empire.
In Hamakro, urolua means 'brother'. He is the spirit of hunting, gambling, stealth, and secrecy. He is often represented as a swindler who takes advantage of the foolish, but this sort of exploitativeness is an admirable trait among Hamakro, for they see the strong as more valuable than the weak. Urolua is known as the son of Apipaj, the spirit of death. He is also associated with incarnation and eternal life, and is believed to be obsesesd with dominating those around him.
Xilia
Known as She to most humans, Ashmah to Alations, and Jero to the Hamakro.
Xilia is a god-like spirit locked in eternal partnership with Guranda. She is considered to be the immortal empress, never seen but always sensed. She is a spirit of wrath, desire, and punishment, and Guranda's spiritual marriage to her represents his oath to protect the people by any means necessary. When Guranda - the first emperor of South Ideitess - died, he had lived already for several hundred years, and a man appeared knowing things that only Guranda knew. The only thing that differed was his appearance and name. This event of a new emperor conveniently appearing at the death of the old emperor has happened time and time again, and it is the belief of The Empire that Guranda is able to be resurrected into another human body when his old body dies.
The two creation gods, Mavharra and Ulkor, tricked the first mortals into believing false things about the world so that they would not be discovered, and they waited until the appearance of Guranda to make themselves known. They made for him an empress wife who would elavate him to the state of a god and bring him back to life each time his body died. They named the wife Xilia, and gave her great power so that she could punish mortals who ever got close to discovering the identity of Mavharra and Ulkor.
