Harce

The harce is a strange, slender, stealthy cat-like animal found only in the thick forests of Ketrem.
Characteristics: Their greenish-brown textured fur enables them to camouflage well. It's believed that they even have a second set of translucent eyelids which they can use to keep their eyes moist without appearing as though they are moving at all. An enlarged, sturdy ribcage helps prevent its breathing being noticed, and bony fins down its back are thought to collect heat from the sun to prevent it from getting cold due to inactivity. The strange whiskers hanging from their cheeks are used to detect fine changes in temperature or air movement, and they are believed to even aid in picking up scents of other animals.
Behaviour: As a solitary predator, they often lay in waiting, entirely still, for several hours at a time. Their walk is best described as a prowl and they keep their heads near to the ground, using their whiskers to sense what's been going on. They are clever, and can often discern where animals travel often when choosing a hotspot to wait. They usually only eat smaller animals, such as rodents, rabbits, and clumsy birds. When detecting larger creatures, they will resort to hiding and camouflaging.
Strength: Their jaws are large, set heavily with teeth, and their claws are long, sharp, and do not retract. Because of this, it avoids running or moving quickly, but instead prefers to wait in hotspots selected with the aid of its whiskers.
Runtan

Known for its large size and fearsome appearance, the runtan is a powerful predator of Jindiara.
Characteristics: The lower jaw extends below the upper, and because of this, they tend to twist the head to one side to bite. Their necks are long, strong, flexible, and covered in a mess of tangled, long fur, and males also boast short antler-like horns which they only use for battling other males. Though their tail appears thick, it is mostly fur. Their coat is a dark shade of brown with overtones ranging from grey to red to green, and they have rows of stripes to help them blend in to their surroundings.
Behaviour: When annoyed, they either roar loudly or make a distinct snapping sound with their jaws, displaying their teeth. They lead solitary lives, save the mother-cub relationship, and generally do not enjoy company. They are known as intelligent, but rash animals, and can be outsmarted as they are prone to thinking and responding too quickly to situations.
Strength: They rely on surprise and bursts of energy to catch their prey, and have been known to make single bounds of 5 metres in height and 15 metres in length. Despite their explosive power and fierce energy, they often seem to lack coordination and accuracy when agitated (save their accuracy when biting) and so Keid exploit this to hunt them.
