High Priest Father Duosol Seandiriel
Arguably one of the most holy mortals ever to have walked Riiga, Father Duosol almost gained the reputation of a Hireos by the end of his life. He helped establish a country, founded an order, was the first mortal to meet Nikina, and did a great deal of work concerning the most sacred scripture: The Dutri. He also had a son and a wife, Dualkedor and Tierra Seandiriel. Dualkedor took over his father's position in 3132BD but Tierra was never much seen or heard of. She spent a lot of time deep in the temple.
The country that -- at one time -- held him up as their leader, is North Nidonn.
Though he was but a humble and young scholar of the White Order at the time, the first people of the East looked to his wisdom and knowledge of divine matters and he helped to protect them when hope was fading. The order he founded is the Order of Dualkedor, named after Dualkedor, his son. This order is now considered the most divine of all orders.
Duosol was always described as a man of dignity, patience, and wisdom, but he had little patience when it came to people being lazy or irresponsible.
He could often be seen lecturing young priests or even citizens on how to behave like a mature adult and act with respect and kindness, but he always did it with a smile. Had he walked into a town that did not know who he was, he would have been thought to be a simple elderly man in a robe as his attire was so simple. The only accessory that distinguished his authority was a sort of bracelet that could only be removed with a key which Nikina held, so that only Nikina could truly decide who was to be the High Priest of the Order of Dualkedor. Duosol also wore his hair and beard long.
Early History
In the year 3809BD, humans from Central set out toward the east to discover new lands. This band consisted of many adventurers, swarms of large families, some men of trade, but no people with divine blood or Hireos. They came across a country now known as Nidonn and came ashore at the western end of what is now Leotyne. The few thousand or so travellers trekked east across the rocky plains, came into a large valley with a giant lake, and then headed south towards a large structure -- all over the course of seven years. Along the way, they set up many camps and tried to found settlements, but they did not work out for numerous reasons. These were the first humans of the East.
In 3802, when hope was a mere sliver, scouts saw a structure and everyone gathered around it. This structure was one of the four temples known as Hunnuklad, and a priest known as Father Duosol encouraged everyone to take shelter in it. Before he came to Nidonn, Duosol was not a priest. He was a mere scholar for the royal palace in Third Lyte. He took it upon himself to lead the people, as the designated leaders for the band had either perished in a fierce storm that the ships encountered before they reached the land or from a brief period of illness that the large company experienced. Indeed, Hunnuklad was both a temple and a sanctuary from harm. It wasn't long before Nikina himself came to Duosol in one of the more ambiguous rooms of the temple. Nikina told the high priest to tell everyone else to build a city, and Nikina would grant whoever they chose as their king an extended life. Ecstatic, Duosol passed on what he had heard to the residents of the temple, and they set out immediately to build a large city around this temple. Nikina guided the workers to the best sources of stone, wood, metal, soil for crops, and fresh water, and by the next year, the formations of the city had been laid, and this place was named Phedailin.
Establishment of the Order
Father Duosol he created the Order of Dualkedor under further instruction of Nikina. As at that time, Duosol had a son named Dualkedor, Duosol named the order after him. Duosol was the first High Priest, and Dualkedor was the second. Because of Nikina's aid in helping the first eastern humans, the insight of the Dutri, and the shelter that Hunnuklad provided, the Dualkedorian Order rose quickly in power. With it came the Knights of Phedailin, who served more to protect the entire country as opposed to merely protecting the temple and High Priest.
Priests were trained and ventured back to Central and West. They then founded churches -- at least one in every large town. In Central, the Order of White welcomed the churches and the Dualkedorian Order, and protected them in place of the defenders. In the West, it was the Legionites who protected the churches.
Late History
When humans found Hunnuklad in 3802BD, they found with it numerous scriptures. The scripture on the alterpiece in the centre of the old library was one which was later translated to say Dutri, which means 'choice'. Many people tried and failed to translate its contents, but nobody could. Not even Carson's notes helped anyone. When the high priest at the time, known as Father Duosol, met Nikina, the god of creation, he gave Duosol a set of instructions. Duosol, being one of the most famous priests of Riiga and a man of complete faith, obeyed.
Nikina told him firstly to gather twenty-one scribes, each sufficient writing material. They were to be seated in the prime chamber of Hunnuklad, where Nikina would read out the Dutri's contents in their own language. Nikina told each scribe to write only one portion of what he explained, so the Dutri was separated into twenty-one pieces. Nikina also said he would only speak the Dutri once, so the translated scriptures must be taken absolute care of. Nikina read out the Dutri soon after, and each scribe wrote frantically when it was his or her turn. They were supervised by guards the entire time.
When this was done, Nikina showed them to a large round room with walls consisting of twenty-one great stone slabs, so high that scaffolding was constructed to reach their tops. Nikina told them to carve what the scrolls said into the walls, and for the scrolls to be burnt immediately after. This was so that none could argue against the words, as they were set into stone. However, as the scaffolding was being removed after the completion of the carving, a great crack appeared across pieces 8, 9, 10, and 11, and the stones fell and shattered. For fear of going against Nikina's word, Duosol approached the god and told him what had happened. Nikina said it was the fault of the carelessness of the workers, and said nothing more. Judging by the sequence of events, it is believed to contain more information about the race in the temples (piece 8), and some time after, the birth of Renin (piece 9) and the first humans (pieces 10 and 11). Two of the stones split into 52 pieces, and the other two split into 53 pieces. All attempts at reassembling them soon failed.
Immediately, Duosol employed many clever people to try to fathom the language of the scripture which is now known as Manamor, but none could translate more than a few letters here and there, even with the English translations at hand. As Duosol had spent so long with Nikina, he absorbed a lot of life energy, and he died in the year 2985BD, during the reign of King Devante, and was 842 years old. In 3132BD he passed his role of High Priest over to his son, and spent the rest of his days as a master scholar for the temple. Duosol continued to try to translate the scriptures until the day he died, but he never did.
