Templars of the East

Around the time that The Guards came into power, Tokjalyo and his Templars began to roam from Central and concentrate their efforts elsewhere. They realised that the rest of the world was blooming and there were many places to exploit the weakness of mortals. Later, the Twilight Blades was formed in the East. They are a sub-order of Templars that work in East Riiga, acting as advisors, chancellors, and nobles to infiltrate the delicate systems of the lands.

Though the history of Phedailin and its kingdoms is written in such a way that it implies peace has been present for so many years, many darker events had been taking place for some time. Just to name a few, there is the assassination of Lord Radcliff of Leotyne, the murder of Lord Ignatius's father (whose name was destroyed from all records), the confusing military movements of Jevithem's troops, and the infiltration of Trelinia's nobles. Such events as these are remembered by the majority of people but no great effort is taken to record them. The kings insist that doing so emphasises unwanted negativity, and that the people should concentrate their thoughts on other things.

Trouble in the Red Sands

Around the year 1000BD, when Ignatius, the son of the current lord of Laurondirin, was old enough to inherit the throne, some odd events began taking place in this country. Ignatius was a loud and troubled youth and his father was even louder. Rumour has it that Ignatius was approached by members of the Twilight Blades, and they promised to give him his father's throne under one condition, and that was that one of them would become his main advisor in his castle. He agreed and his father was assassinated, but by whom, it is not known. Immediately after, the records had been set on fire, and though it was extinguished quickly, almost no information about Ignatius's father or even his grandfather remained. The Twilight Blades saw to it that the people forgot the name of their past lord, and they accepted Ignatius as their new leader without further question. However, as they say, "what goes around, comes around", and Ignatius was later betrayed by his own son, Magnus.

The Prince who Ran Away

Lord Radcliff of Leotyne was assassinated in the year 1175AL by the Twilight Blades. When this happened, his son, prince Lance, was sent away by his mother under the protection of one of their own assassins. Lance lived with this man and hid away in Yele for three years. Meanwhile, the retired Lord Alaric of Trelinia had entered Leotyne and claimed the throne, as the people had assumed Lance was also killed as his father was. Once Alaric had the throne of Leotyne, he and the Twilight Blades that were influencing him made attacks against the other countries, but none dared to march against Leotyne because their fortress is so formidable. There were many arguments and small battles, and eventually, Lance received word that he should come back and reclaim the throne. Being only 16 years old, he set out with the same assassin that had helped him escape, and with the aid of the other countries, snuck into his own castle and killed the imposter to his throne -- Lord Alaric. Lance then became lord of Leotyne at this young age, and became the youngest lord in the history of North Nidonn. The Twilight Blades retreated from Leotyne and began to plot things elsewhere.

Taipan

Taipan has been the assigned leader of the Twilight Blades since about 1110AL, not long after he was created by an Odanon named Kyn. In turn, Taipan made for himself three powerful bodyguards: Scarab, Stag, and Python. Though the Templars have been meddling in the affairs of the East for many years before, Taipan's birth and the founding of the Twilight Blades has enabled the Templars' influence to be more direct, as all blame went to this sub-order, instead of the Templars. Taipan is a bold and devious magician who has many dealings with the noble family in east Trelinia. He has staring red eyes and a rather youthful appearance with long silver hair.

Python

Member of the Twilight Blades
Python is one of Taipan's subordinates and creations. He is another magician who does not show his skin, as his face is shrouded in a hood and all the rest of him is covered. He is a master of illusions, though he does know many kinds of elemental magic. Not much more is known about him, as he does not reveal anything about himself.

Scarab

Member of the Twilight Blades
Scarab is one of Taipan's subordinates and creations. He is a large and bald man with a scarred body and deep frown. He has a kind of magic that deteriorates the spirit and weakens the body, though recovery is often possible after much healing attention. Aside from this, he can fight very well both with and without a weapon.

Stag

Member of the Twilight Blades
Stag is one of Taipan's subordinates and creations. He is a strong man clad in dark armour and he always wears an ominous helmet from which he stares his opponent down. He has a fighting style much like Groud -- he will simply stand up after being badly beaten. However, it is highly doubted they draw this power from the same source. Groud is able to do it to a far greater extent.
